Memorial Day and after!

Hello everyone! I hope and pray you all had a wonderful Memorial Day, and thank you to everyone serving our Country my deepest thank you and respect go out to each of you! My memorial day was wonderful...well...wonderful but painful! My handsome fiance was home (He is a smartie who is getting ready to graduate UCLA in a week and a half so on weekends we take turns coming home to see each other) and we had plans to meet up with all of our friends for a bbq and pool day! *But before I can continue you must know these things about me:

1.You see, I am the type of girl that loves adventure, the great outdoors, and pushing myself to try new things...but two years ago right before JT (my fiance) and I started dating, he took me and our friends on an [[epic]] snowboarding trip!! (I course was stoked not only because this wonderful guy I liked was going, but because I love the rush and excitement of fear and challenge.)

2. I am very. very. very. accident prone. I just go for it...not a good idea. lol

3. That exciting trip ended in me not only getting to be caught by JT and prevented from crashing into a poor innocent kiddo, (okay so I totally was hoping that would happen!) but I also shattered my tailbone and had bruises the size of Texas! [ouch]

4. I have a pretty high pain tolerance I guess so I didn't go to the doctor for 4 weeks after the trip (I figured it would heal on it's own or was just badly bruised)...by then I found out the damage that had been done and since then I have battled a never ending fight against damaged nerves and discs in my back. My chiropractor worked wonders on my tailbone and the bruises healed but every few weeks a simple turn or tweak would send shooting pain up and down my back and sometimes legs. It was horrible. This has lead to weight gain, knee problems, and back problems. But, God is good...and He has given me the strength I need to persevere! Phil 4:13

Back to the story....
so, in order to prevent stiffness I have begun stretching three times a day to keep my lower back limber...well when I went to stretch an upper rib right under my shoulder cuff popped and slipped up. Now, simply take my word for it...slipped rib=Painful. I don't recommend it. =) In determination to keep the day as planned, JT quickly grabbed ice packs, gave me advil, and grabbed pillows, ensuring I didn't lift a single finger. The pool was successful and being around friends and my love made it sooo perfect..and instead of a hotdog..I ate a yummy salad Jt bought me!

Fast forward:
*I made it into the chiropractor this morning..he popped everything back in place and did some therapy on it...with the blog on my mind and this journey i've vowed to take...i got my sore body to the gym (the Chiro said it was okay as long as I didn't do weights) I can officially say I biked 5 whole miles, and walked 3 more miles!!! more than what I usually ever do not injured!

Even if your experiencing some health downers..set a goal no matter how small or big. Then stick to it. Seeing your goal accomplished will bring the biggest smile to your face! I promise!

Keep Walk'n in His Grace!

Love, Michelle

Hello and welcome!

Hello! And welcome to my blog! I am completely new at this and it has taken me over an hour to even get this far! ha! I have had a desire to start blogging for awhile now, but kept putting it off thinking to myself that I had no time or had other things to do (You know how it is). Anyways, this blog is my journey to health, wellness, strength, and a transformation in and of myself..not to mention, I'm recently engaged to a wonderful, amazing man (who happens to be my best friend) and I have exactly 10 months to get this body in tip-top shape! So, here we go...join me on my journey to taking care of myself physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I'm going to try to be as real and raw as possible, and i'm excited to see what God does! I'm ready to venture on..are you?
